Factors affecting screen printing prices:

Our screen printing price includes all set-up and preparations for screen printing as well as the screen printing process itself.  Art preparation, revision or modification of art, custom ink mixews and the fabrication, handling and/or cost of the substrate are priced separately.

Quantity

Screen printing is an economical method of printing the same image repeatedly.  The greater the quantity, the more economical each unit will be.  It's better to order a few extra than to risk the necessity of a small repeat order earlier than you anticipated.  However, screen printing is sometimes the only effective printing method for a particular substrate or art design, regardless of quantity.

Number of colors

Screen printing allows the combination of many vibrant colors in graphic illustrations.  Any number of colors can be used in one project in order to produce eye-catching effects.  When planning the art for your image, remember that each screen printed color is a print job in itself, requiring a separate screen image, set-up and print run, so multi-color jobs do cost more than a single color.

Size of image

Screen printing is an effective method for creating images large and small, from billboards to the micro-circuits in the U.S. space shuttles.  The size of the image determines how much area is needed on a screen.  We have segregated our screens into three sizes, for images to 8" x 12", to 12" x 16" and 16" x 24".  Although we have printed larger images we're not really set up to do so.  The larger the image, the more area is needed on a screen, more film for the film positives, longer print time for the larger image, more ink for the larger image area, longer clean-up time and more times is spent handling the larger substrate.  Conversely, smaller images require less of all these factors.
