What We Would Need from You
Art Work
Formerly referred to as “camera ready art work” when a black on white representation of the image was used to produce “positives” with process cameras. Each color to be screen printed required its’ own black on white representation. Art should now be supplied as a computer file via diskette, CD or email, preferably in a “vector” file format such as those produced with CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator. We will prepare art for you, if you would prefer. (See our Policy for Art.)
Art, whatever its’ form, is used to produce a “positive”, a black image on clear film necessary to transfer the image onto the screen used in screen printing. The cost of producing this positive from the art work is included in the screen printing price. If you have the capability to supply a suitably opaque, clean positive at 100% size you will receive a discount on your invoice.
Substrate
Substrate is the material that is to be screen printed. We keep a few kinds of substrates in inventory (decal materials, magnetic sheet and Lexan film) and we have vendors for many other substrates. You are welcome to supply your own substrate. In many cases, where specific fabrication of a substrate is necessary, using your substrate vendor with whom you already have a good working relationship might be the best approach.
Color
We have many standard shelf colors to choose from, as many as 27 at our last count in one of our ink lines. (Different substrates require different ink formulations.) However, if you need a custom ink mix to match a particular color we would ask that you give us a Pantone Matching System number for that color or a sample of the color you want. There is a $20.00 charge per color, per order.
