Art 

We have the capability to do basic art in-house and we have artists on call for art that we don’t feel is within our capabilities.  If we’re working on a screen printing project for you, feel free to supply your own art work that is suitable for screen printing.  (See our Policy for Art.)

Film Positives

Film positives, necessary to prepare the screen image used in screen printing, are prepared from art.  Until late in 2003 we produced film positives with a process camera, literally taking a picture of the art with high contrast positive film to convert the art from a “black on white” paper image into a “black on clear” film image, commonly called a film positive.  The film for these cameras is no longer being manufactured, so now film positives are commonly made by using a computer system to print the film positive with a printer and film suitable for the purpose.  We can accept art on diskettes, CD’s and email.

Screen Preparation / Reclaiming / Exposure

We can prepare your new or used screen for your own in-house screen printing use.  New screens are thoroughly abraded, degreased, coated with a quality emulsion and exposed with our metal halide exposure unit.  Used screens are cleaned of old emulsion, the haze is removed (if needed) and then the mesh is abraded, degreased, coated and exposed.
